15.03.16 Application of GenIUL technology in the in vitro study of viable skin microbiome on human stratum corneum.

Researchers from Radboud University and NIZO Food Research from The Netherlands developed an in vitro system that mimics human stratum corneum with the aim to study diversity and dynamics of the skin microbiome in a medium-throughput format. Furthermore, the authors assessed the effectiveness of PMA-qPCR in bacterial survival analysis and successfully applied vPCR for Illumina 16S metagenomics sequencing.
